Update: Dreams Come True!

  • by

If you have known us over a decade, this the news that we’ve been hoping to share! After losing our longtime drop-in center on Christmas Day of 2013, the Homeless Youth Alliance spent the last decade providing our life-saving services on the streets of San Francisco. After striking out time and again on the rental market, we dreamed of finding a new home for our organization, this time, one that we would own ourselves. In 2024, the dream became a reality when a neighboring business in the Upper Haight let us know that they had found the perfect building for us, and that it was for sale. 1770 Haight Street is our dream come true. At 5000 square feet, it has ground floor gallery space for exhibiting young people’s artwork, a top floor with ample office and meeting space for our staff to work out of, and the real gem: a stand alone carriage house with a private yard where we plan to reopen our youth drop in once renovations are complete. Thanks to our incredible supporters, we were able to purchase the building and complete our first round of renovations. The final stage of our capital campaign is also the most important: renovating the back carriage house to make it safe, sound, and into the drop-in center of our dreams. To do this, we need to raise close to $2M. Please join us in our campaign to give youth experiencing homelessness the safe space they deserve. Donate to our capital campaign now.
